Nordex celebrating its first twenty-five years. A major event is on our doorstep: This year we are celebrating our 25th anniversary – a quarter of a century in which Nordex has been in business, 25 years in which wind power technology has advanced in gigantic strides and in which the role played by Nordex in renewable energies has grown steadily. The number of Nordex turbines installed around the world since 1985 passed the 4,000 marks. Nordex grew by an average of 50 per cent for the fourth consecutive year, thus beating its competitors and widening its share of the global market. In Rostock, work on extending rotor blade production commenced. Nordex China started preparing the next step in its extension efforts. In Chicago, the Nordex USA’s head office was established. Nordex secured land in Jonesboro, Arkansas, for the construction of local production facilities. They closed the year with record sales of around EUR 1.1 billion. The Nordex Gamma generation is being readied for launch. Nordex AG converted in 2010 into a European Company (Societas Europaea, SE) with the name Nordex SE.
